The digital age continues to take over the globe year on year, so does the market demand for websites where people can easily buy things they need and want. Just this 2018, a whopping $1.86 trillion were spent by shoppers all around the world using online marketplaces. Imagine the returns that these sellers get. Moreover, second-hand shoppers are slowly growing by the days, thanks to the practical buying behaviours of people nowadays.

Now, you also want to sell your old things online. While there are lots of free classified ads websites you can upload your items into, how you sell them is an important factor.

Here are 5 Strategies you can do to Achieve More Sales from your Used Products

1.       Put the thought in your Photos

Yes, it’s very easy to just upload a photo of your product, add a price, and call it a day. But these photos are what potential buyers see and examine. Your photos should give a good first impression for shoppers to catch their attention. Use clear and sharp photos of your products. Capture in several different angles and spots and make sure that all aspects of the product are seen as much as possible. Only upload photos with good lighting and a clean background so the product stands out.

2.       Reason for Selling

Be honest and state why you are selling a particular product. Shoppers will be thankful if they are aware of certain defects of your item, rather than finding out about it after it has been shipped to them. That would result in possible negative feedback or worse, disputes. Indicate how long you have been using the item, if it has damages or scratches, or if something is not working.

3.       Use compelling titles and descriptions

Selling a luxury brand? Put it straight in the title. Aside from photos, titles and descriptions are your first line of contact with buyers. Make sure that every useful detail is written on your sales copy. If selling clothing, add size charts. When selling other merchandise, state the colour, size, weight, and other specifications of your product. If possible, use bullet points for easier readability.

4.       Know your pricing

Avoid overpricing. Remember, the products you are selling are pre-owned or second-hand. Learn how to price them reasonably. If you are open to negotiation, price your items 5-10% higher so you have a wiggle room for when a buyer starts to negotiate with you. If you can, try to look at prices of other similar items and price yours on the same range.

5.       Share on other Channels

Don’t underestimate the power of a single share. When you successfully posted on a classified ads site, follow it up by sharing the link on your social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Youtube. By doing this, you widen the audience of your ad placement and can possibly give you some clicks from people who come across your posting.
