Sean Randall's Dusk Til Dawn payoff
Sean Randall, the relatively unknown player from the United States, overcame the odds to be crowned champion in the Dusk Til Dawn £500 Deepstack top prize of £110,000, his biggest cash in to date.
The exclusive, poker -only card room, based in Nottingham, guaranteed that the competition would have a prize pool of a cool half a million pounds. With 910 players taking part over the course of three days, the club had to overlay roughly £45,000 to ensure the prize pool promise was kept.
Working his hands expertly, with a 2:1 chip lead going into the final, it took Randall a swift hour to wrap things up and finish off Gary Jones with J-J vs A-7.
The final table results were:
1: Sean Randall — £110,000
2: Gary Jones — £65,000
3: Marios Andreas — £43,000
4: Danish Gandhi — £30,000
5: Lee Taylor — £22,000
6: Sean Belton — £17,000
7: Kieran Plater — £12,000
8: Darren Copus — £8,500
9: David Williams — £6,500
Featuring a 50,000 starting stack and a 40 minute clock on the first day of the event, increasing to an hours play on the second day.
Notable players included Dave Ulliott and Matt Perrins.
