Screen Printing Help Design Your Own T-Shirt
By the use of screen printing t-shirts, you can either use a standard design that is being provided by other firms that are specializing in printing of t-shirt or you can have your own design printed. However, if you decide to go with the latter format, you should keep in mind certain aspects as it affects the overall outcome of the print.
The process of screen printing
Silk screen printing in London is a process that was used at one point of time as silk was used to make the screen. This technique was quite popular in China and therefore the name was given as silk. With the passage of time, silk was replaced by polymer fibre which reduced the cost of printing quite considerably.
The Printing
At the time of screen printing in London, the garment is placed under the box and the screen is mounted on a box. The ink is than poured into the box and a squeegee which is a kind of tool is pulled across which makes the ink to pass through the mesh. When the ink is left to dry down and the image is left on the t-shirt.
As many of us can make out, this process of printing when only one colour is used for printing, as only one colour can be poured through the mesh. In case more than one colour needs to be used, we will have to repeat the process. There are many shirts that make use of mono colour and it is where this printing is most effective.
Unless the pattern is exactly the same, for each different colour a new screen is required. For individual garments, screen printing in London can turn out to be quite expensive as the more number of screen the more is the expenditure. The set-up cost is fixed and than for every new colour the cost adds up.
When large areas of block colour are used the screen printing in London can turn out to be quite advantageous. Digital printing is not equally effective as screen printing for large areas.
