Designer Era
This era of saris belongs entirely to the designers. These fashion designers are synonomous with special kinds of saris that are known to have ruled both ramp as well as streets with equal importance. Designers who have played a major role in makeover of the sari are Ritukumar, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, VikramPhadnis , Manish Malhotra and new bies like Anamika Khanna and Masaba Gupta. They have redefined the whole concept of sari right from fabric, to look to drape. Their latest innovation is a pre stitched sari. Most women complain of the fact that sari draping is an art that most are unaware off. On top of that most women are working so they almost always face a time crunch. As a result, they are never able to perfect the art of pleating a sari and wearing it. This problem has been identified by the designers and the solution provided by them are pre stitched saris and lehenga style saris. These saris are known to have an elaborate pallu and a striking border. Most people prefer these thanks to the convenience in wearing it.

Color Hues in Vogue
Earlier, there was a major demarcation when it came to color palette for western and Indian clothes. Certain colors like bright neon and soft pastels were reserved and used by designers in western clothes and bright solid colors were used in Indian clothes. Similarly, bronze was a western tone and silver and gold were eastern tone. You can say, that there was a clear demarcation of both the color palettes used in Western and Indian clothes. That line of difference has slowly faded. Now, designers are undergoing makeover saris using these Western pallete colors. You will be amazed to see the demand of bronze colored saris amongst Indians.
