The person behind the booming success of non conventional energy in Madhya Pradesh is the principal secretary of Planning and Renewable Energy, Madhya Pradesh, 

IAS. SR Mohanty. An IAS and alumnus of IIMA is one of the youngestIAS officers to have many achievements to his credit. MP reigns in renewable energy in comparison to other states under his leadership. Currently renewable energy projects worth Rs. 30,000 crore are being implemented in Madhya Pradesh.

He won the Global Development Network Award for Most Innovative Project instituted by the World Bank and 19 International agencies for innovations in governance in December 2000 for his work in devising the Rogi Kalyan Samiti (RKS) concept. The entry was selected out of over 160 entries from around the world. The Jury included The President of the World Bank, The President of the ADB, Two Nobel Prize Winners and six other leading experts.
