Ukraine War
The conflict between Ukraine and Russia started in 2013 following a trade agreement. When Ukrainians began protesting for better representation of their interests, Russia invaded the country.
Ukraine and NATO relation
Ukraine is not a member of NATO, but it does have a military cooperation agreement with the alliance. Ukraine's membership in NATO would be beneficial to both NATO and the country because it could provide stability in the region by blocking Russia from entering neighboring countries.
conclusion
The conclusion of the Russia-Ukraine conflict is still unknown. A meeting between Putin, Poroshenko, and Merkel suggests that a ceasefire may not be enough.
