Running Air Conditioners with Solar PV
High Wattage
Air conditions are high wattage appliances. When compressor of an AC starts it needs high current. A one ton AC needs 1300 watts and 2-ton needs 2500 watts. The wattage is required till the compressor is running as it switches off the electricity consumption is almost normal. So the initial voltage required by an AC is higher. Similarly, water heaters consume high voltage at the initial time period.
