Role of Smart City & its Components in the IoT Era

by Ashley Jan IoT | DevOps | Product Marketer
leveraging IoT solutions for smart cities solutions and technology contributes to economic growth, infrastructure and environmental improvement, transportation systems improvement and cost optimization of the management of government resources.

Implementation of connected technology with smart city and IoT helps to enhance the quality and the performance of urban services to reduce resources and cost. and which comes under the Digital Engineering services

Lets see what are the components of IoT plays important role in impacting the Smart City solutions

Smart infrastructure: It can be only be useful in urban areas where there will be connected streets, smart parking, smart lighting

Smart Lighting: An auto switch "off" and "on" of lights during the day and night time, you can set the timer when the lights would go "off" and "On". like the parking lights can be dimmed during the working hours or unoccupied days and can be turned on when the car is entering the parking areas.

Smart Gardening: Smart sprinkler system connected to the technology can be used to water the plants on set time and day. it can also be used to measure the moisture level of the soil, what is the fertility level of the soil and what type of plants can be grown in such conditions.

Smart parking: Smart car parks reduced congestion, decrease vehicle emissions, decrease driver stress and enforcement costs.

There are many components which plays an important role in making city smarter. The main alternatives for the application of intelligent cities are intelligent sensor networks, the Internet of Things solutions and services (IoT), and the Connected technologies.
