ROBOTS ROLE IN PREPARATION OF MAN TO LIVE ON MARS

Our focus of putting humans on Mars has been the use of spaceships and travel too and from there. We have landed one robot to collect information about Mars. In order for humans to live on Mars, a lot of advance preparation need to be done. I do not know how much of that is planned. Sending a human being to Mars and have him to walk on Mars should not be the aim. We have done that with the trip to the moon. What we need to do in preparation of humans living on Mars is advance preparation using robots. We need to determine how humans will survive on Mars whether it be in surface huts as some have proposed or in solar caves as I have proposed. Man would be real challenged to initially go up and do the preparation for this. Fortunately, we have robots that can handle this. Multiple trips will be needed to deliver the necessary equipment to do all the preliminary chores needed in advance for humans to live on Mars. Some of this equipment will be very heavy for earth exploration including rock busting and heavy lifting, and may have to be delivered by more than one spacecraft. Robots can carve out underground caves and pre-position survival equipment as well as dig for H2O. Indeed, robots will have to play a major role if a human community is to be established on Mars.
