Ringtones and Apple INC have a long relation, back with the launch of the first operating system by Apple lead by Steve jobs. The first ever media presentation was delayed and had a lot of upsets because of the launching tune. Mr.jobs was unhappy with the background tune and had a long discussion with the team to get it resolved. However today we all know that Apple is the largest information technology company. But the fact is that they are more popular with their phones in general audience. Apple launched their first handset way back and the most popular thing was its "ringtone". Today people go out on search engines and type apple ringtones. This may sound a little to much because the word is "Iphone ringtones" but because people are unaware of the fact that its the iphone which has the ringtones in it. Not apple. 
How apple used ringtones to market their mobile phones

Apple have used ringtones as their marketing weapon the reason i say marketing weapon is because after videos anything that can relate to our brain quickly is audio. What we hear today we believe in that. Apple made full use of this and brought a special ringtones in their handset which is today available on lot of ringtones sharing portal. The ringtone was very unique and sleek at the same time. Apple Inc did walked an extra mile because they knew it. They have seen the Nokia 3310 ringtone and its popularity. Apple went on creating different unique and classy music as their default ringtones. So that in public if a Apple phone rings it could differentiate from the Android phones and once this happens Android user's went after its ringtones and end up purchasing an iPhone.
