So which is India's most anticipated car this September? Keeping in tune with the competition, Renault is gearing up for their next instalment, most probably to be seen on the road this September. As the Diwali season approaches, Renault is getting ready to cash on the festivities, along with all the other automakers.
Kwid is an entry car offering from the French auto major Renault. There has already been enough talk about this much-awaited launch from Renault. The launch date of the model is yet to be released but a few unofficial sources from the company say that the Kwid will be launched in India by the festive season. So that means by the end of September, one may see many a Kwid on the road.
The masculine front bumper enhances the robust looks. It gets black protective claddings all round, including to its wheel arches. It gets standard cosmetics like black colours ORVMs, door handles and B pillar strips. The cabin is simple and laden with standard features. The central console gets a glossy black treatment. It is the first vehicle in its class to have a digital instrument cluster. The steering wheel along with the AC vents has chrome accents. The Kwid is expected to have a few convenience features like drink holders, storage spaces and cabin lights. The car can seat five occupants and has a decent boot volume.
As per the spy shots, there are many storage spaces on door trims. In addition to these, it might also include sun visors for driver and co-passenger, inside rear view mirror, spacious glove box compartment, seat integrated headrests, air conditioning vents, assist grips and a few other utility based aspects that will just add to the comfort quotient.
The Kwid is built on Renault-Nissan's CMF-A modular platform. The Kwid is expected to get an 800 cc three-cylinder petrol mill that is expected to churn out 57 bhp power. The transmission will be taken care of by either a five-speed gearbox or AMT. The Kwid is likely to deliver the best-in-class fuel efficiency and has a ground clearance of 180 mm. The car has a maximum mileage of about 26 Kmpl.
The estimated price of Renault Kwid is between Rs. 3 lakh and Rs. 4 lakh.
Now a little about the features of Renault Kwid - it is expected to feature the segment's first ever touch screen Media-Nav Navigation System with a seven-inch display, digital instrument console, alloy wheels, chrome door handles, chrome touched tail lights, roof rails and side body cladding.
Renault has commenced bookings for the Kwid in selected cities and can be booked at the official Renault dealership for Rs. 25,000.
