Samoa is an exotically beautiful, virgin island, which is situated between its neighboring island Hawaii and New Zealand. Because it is regarded as a virgin or a largely unexplored island, even though it has strikingly beautiful topography and a wide variety of flora and fauna, the island of Samoa does not have a great number of hotels. Most of the luxury hotels are located in the capital city of Apia which is quite far away from the main island.

So the tourist who wants an exciting tropical holiday, on a shoestring budget might be at their wit's end, finding a clean, comfortable lodging which provides quality accommodations at affordable rates. Although the island of Samoa is resplendent in its beauty, with its sparkling, turquoise waters, coral reefs, white, pristine sand beaches and expenses of evergreen tropical rain forests. But there are only a very few quality places to stay in Samoa , because as mentioned before, this island is not yet as busy a tourist destination like its neighbors Hawaii and New Zealand.

There are however a few quality, affordable hotels in Samoa, which are located in close proximity to the Samoa airport. These hotels prefer to classify themselves as high quality budget motels. These are also located in the vicinity of the ferry center to Savaii. These motels can provide you with clean, comfortable rooms that are cooled either through a fan or through an air conditioner according to your budget.

These hotels do not have a private beach but have a jetty from which you can enjoy a safe and secure ocean bathing and a myriad of other water sports like snorkeling, deep-sea diving, kayaking, scuba diving etc. You can also rest in one of the fales of traditional Samoan thatched roofs and sip on some chilled coconut water. The hotel staff is quite friendly and ready to provide personalised services according to your needs.

These hotels also provide delicious home cooked food which will keep you wanting more. If you do not want traditional standard fare and want to taste the exotic cuisine of Samoa, some of these hotels also hold fiafia nights or traditional celebration nights, where you get servings of grilled tuna fish or chicken which have been marinated in coconut cream and lemon juice and slow roasted in the umu or traditional lava stone oven of Samoa - without a drop of oil.
