JEE Main counselling is a process through which a student can get admission in different NITs, IIFTs and govt. GFTIs. The conducting body of Jee main counselling is Joint seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA). Once a student is done with the Jee main exam 2019 They can view their result on the official website of NTA which is the exam conducting body for jee the main exam. The candidates Appeared in the exam is eligible or have passed the jee main exam then only he/she can go for the process of Counselling. A candidate who has passed the jee main and jee advance both then only he/she can appear for the counselling for the admission in IITs.


A student must go through all the details of Important Events and their dates. There will be seven round of seat allotment in the counselling process. Dates are tentative for the events till now.


Eligibility criteria for counselling

An Aspirant must know the JEE main 2019 exam is going to be conducted under National Testing Agency (NTA) and the result will be declared on the official website of NTA and after the Declaration of result, The counselling process will begin under the Joint seat Allocation Authority (JOSAA) and the official website of JOSAA is once the Examination is done, The Candidate will have to wait for the result and after the declaration of result, A candidate has to check whether they have passed the examination or not. If a candidate has not passed the examination, he/she will not be eligible for the counselling process hence they will not go for the counselling.


Counselling Dates and Events

The result will be declared on 30th of April 2019 . A student will be able to know whether they are eligible for JEE Main 2019 counselling or not only after viewing the result. The online registration and choice filling will start from 3rd week of June 2019, the Last date for the registration and choice filling will start from the 4th week of June 2019. there are seven rounds of seat allotment in the counselling process. Which will be beginning from the 3rd week of June and end up to the 3rd week of July. The brief explanation of step by step counselling process is mentioned below.

  • Counselling allotment Letter to be downloaded by the candidate before reporting.
  • A candidate has to report to the venue of the reporting center with all verified Documents.
  • Fee Payment of the counselling process and in order to freeze the choices a candidate have selected.


Seat Allotment and Ranks

Seat Allotment and ranks for each candidate will be declared by the JOSAA authority. Candidate will receive an email from the Joint seat Allocation Authority regarding their seat allotment on the mentioned email or phone number which they have provided in the form. The seat allotment will be done on the basis of Candidates ranks, Preferences and Availability of seats in the college which they have selected. There will be seven rounds for counselling. A candidate has to visit the official website of counselling conducting body ‘JOSAA’’ in order to download Allotment letter.


If a candidate is allotted for the seat, They have to report to their corresponding centers on the mentioned time. any kind of failure in providing Document or Physical Availability can lead to the cancellation of Admission.

  • Proof of fee payment by e-challan or Internet Banking of SBI for seat acceptance
  • 10th standard mark sheet
  • 12th Standard Marksheet and Passing certificate.
  • Photo identity card
  • Medical certificate
  • Category certificate
  • PWD certificate (if applicable)
  • OCI certificate or PIO card (if applicable)
  • Print out for filled choices for seat Allotment
