However, understanding the immense potential of these portals to influence customer behavior, real estate developers are going a step further by allowing buyers to buy condominiums online. Several prominent developers are selling their properties online. The online space has made it easier for buyers as well as sellers to interact and seal the deal.

In the fast-paced environment, people hardly have time to search a home manually. The Internet is a great place to find homes and compare prices. Most people take help of real estate portals to search their dream home. Since search volume is quite high, developers are offering the option of buying homes online. The exercise is immensely fruitful as it helps developers to reach non-resident Indians (NRIs) who are more open towards buying a property online.

Many developers have even tied up with banks that help in sales. The buyer can make a down payment online and book his apartment. The remaining amount can be paid either online or offline. Online medium allows developers to reach their prospective customers at a lower cost. It saves time and money of both the parties.

Purchasing a home online has many advantages. Buyers not only get details about home values, but they can search their home in a specific neighborhood. According to a recent study by Google India, more than 50% of real estate purchase decisions are influenced by Internet search.

With builders becoming more transparent, it has become easy for buyers to seal the deal. In many portals, buyers can check updates in real-time.  The websites have high-resolution photographs of luxury apartments and villas that aid in decision-making.

It is not only in metros that homebuyers are using real estate websites to purchase homes. This trend is on even in tier II and tier III cities. With the portals carrying quality information, the online business is expected to grow by leaps and bounds in coming days.

However, purchasers need to take certain precautions while purchasing homes online. They must verify the genuineness of the information before any transaction. It is also advisable to make an independent query about the developer and the property before negotiation.
