Shopping for your wedding gown is one of the most fun and difficult tasks on the wedding preparation to-do list. Hundreds of questions flood your thoughts as you search for the ideal bridal gown: How can I make my wedding gown buying experience unique? What should I bring with me when I go wedding gown shopping? Who should I take to shopping for a wedding gown with? The bridal gown tension is amplified when you are also organising a small wedding, which is especially true in these COVID times! But it does not have to be that way. Shopping for your wedding attire should be enjoyable and the experts of Indian wedding planner compiled a list of simple tips and methods to assist you in selecting the right bridal dress for your upcoming wedding by talking to the real brides.

Are you planning a second wedding or party after the lockdown? If you say yes, make sure your bridal gown is light and not overly formal. This way, it would not dominate your full-fledged wedding attire later, and you will be able to reuse it. So this is the one piece of advice I would give to women planning an intimate wedding in the midst of a pandemic, like me!

I am a soon-to-be bride, and considering the growing incidents, I was and am hesitant to go shopping in Kolkata. I discovered that one of the top event management companies in Kolkata was offering this fantastic Virtual Shopping service (a lifesaver!) and immediately signed up. They have organised everything so nicely that you can see things from a variety of designers while still getting great deals. I chose my wedding lehenga online with the help of the amazing crew, and it is now ready for me to wear! It was a huge relief for my family and me. There is no need to worry about wedding dress buying etiquette or who to take wedding dress shopping with. It is a godsend relief for brides like myself, as well as ladies who are planning to marry outside of India.

The one piece of advice I would provide to brides who are shopping for their tiny wedding is to dress according to the location. For my initial (pre-covid world) wedding, I had chosen a lehenga with a trail. However, plans changed, and we married on the lawns of my home. The trail lehenga wasn't the best idea given the rain and grass. I changed it to remove the trail, but if you are buying today, bear in mind where you are having your wedding because intimate weddings location and vibe have changed dramatically.

Chitra says

I would advise brides to look for their wedding dress in the same lingerie that they would wear on their wedding day. If not identical, at least comparable so that you may have a good idea of how the bridal gown fits. It also aids in the appropriate fitting of custom-made garments.
