Ravva upma recipe

This is one of the Indian breakfasts that can be prepared with in 5mins.

Ingredients for ravva upma:

Ravva ( Bombay ravva) – 1cup

water  – 2cups

oil – 2tsps

onion – 1

green chillies – 3 or 4

tomatoes – 1

curry leaves – 3 or 4

ginger slices – 5 small slices

mustard seed -1tsp

Green gram – 2 tsp

Bengal gram – 2tsp

Recipe:

  1. Cut onions, tomatoes, green chillies and garlic into small slices and keep it aside
  2. Keep the pan on stove and boil the oil. Add Bengal gram, green gram and mustard seeds to boiled oil.
  3. After 5secs, add the chopped onions to the oil.
  4. Let the onions fry to light brown color . Add tomatoes, curry leaves and ginger after onions turn into light brown color.
  5. Let all these items fry for 2mins, after that add ravva to this and let it for for half minute.
  6. Boil 2 cups of water in a cooker and add 1tsp of salt to it. after water is boiled add the above ravva mix to this water and close the cooker.
  7. After cooker whistle comes , wait for 2 -3 mins and take the ravva upma into a bowl.

Now hot and instant upma is ready to serve.
