Korea and Russia have been criticised for the last year two major ransomware
cyber-attacks by The U.S And Britain. They have been held responsible for
WannaCry and NotPetya Cyberattacks. WannaCry is one of the Ransomware, which
blocks the access to User’s computer until and unless the sum of money in the
form of Bitcoins has been given to the hackers. Whereas, NotPetya threatens to
remove the important files, if the sum of money, which the hackers asked aren’t
given to them.
On
May 2017, WannaCry has attacked the U.K.’s National Health Service(NHS),
Government Entities and the number of businesses. NotPetya is another Ransomware,
which has attacked Ukraine in the year 2017 and evolves globally. Thus,
affecting the businesses for Maersk and WPP.

D.Young says that Ransomware has turned to be the modern-day theft and the
criminals are continuously using the drive because they are earning money and
thus, they are concerned about that more. He further said that Ransomware has become a constant game and they are the rebel. According
to him, 21st century’s answer to theft is Ransomware and the
malicious software is increasing leading to the number of cyber-attacks.
As
per McAfee CEO, the Cyber-Security industry is better furnished to fight against
Ransomware threats in 2018 than the previous years. And the Ransomware is
growing at a rampant rate. And they are using certain behavioral tools, to spot
the attacks and thus helps in spotting the Ransomware attack, when it going
takes place. In 2018, they are much active with certain tools to fight against
the Ransomware.
