North Korea and Russia have been criticised for the last year two major ransomware cyber-attacks by The U.S And Britain. They have been held responsible for WannaCry and NotPetya Cyberattacks. WannaCry is one of the Ransomware, which blocks the access to User’s computer until and unless the sum of money in the form of Bitcoins has been given to the hackers. Whereas, NotPetya threatens to remove the important files, if the sum of money, which the hackers asked aren’t given to them.

On May 2017, WannaCry has attacked the U.K.’s National Health Service(NHS), Government Entities and the number of businesses. NotPetya is another Ransomware, which has attacked Ukraine in the year 2017 and evolves globally. Thus, affecting the businesses for Maersk and WPP.

McAfee CEO Christopher D.Young says that Ransomware has turned to be the modern-day theft and the criminals are continuously using the drive because they are earning money and thus, they are concerned about that more. He further said that Ransomware has become a constant game and they are the rebel. According to him, 21st century’s answer to theft is Ransomware and the malicious software is increasing leading to the number of cyber-attacks.

As per McAfee CEO, the Cyber-Security industry is better furnished to fight against Ransomware threats in 2018 than the previous years. And the Ransomware is growing at a rampant rate. And they are using certain behavioral tools, to spot the attacks and thus helps in spotting the Ransomware attack, when it going takes place.
