Pyramid Scheme Alert! Sept-11-11
Pyramid Scheme Alert! Sept-11-11
If you have received an invite to join ViraDyne you need to read this NOW!!
According to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission)
http://www.ftc.gov/speeches/other/dvimf16.shtm
What is a Pyramid Scheme and What is Legitimate Marketing?
Pyramid schemes now come in so many forms that they may be difficult to recognize immediately. However, they all share one overriding characteristic. They promise consumers or investors large profits based primarily on recruiting others to join their program.
A Ponzi scheme is closely related to a pyramid because it revolves around continuous recruiting, but in a Ponzi scheme the promoter generally has no product to sell and pays no commission to investors who recruit new "members."
Both Ponzi schemes and pyramids are quite seductive because they may be able to deliver a high rate of return to a few early investors for a short period of time. Yet, both pyramid and Ponzi schemes are illegal because they inevitably must fall apart. No program can recruit new members forever. Every pyramid or Ponzi scheme collapses because it cannot expand beyond the size of the earth's population.
Some people confuse pyramid and Ponzi schemes with legitimate multilevel marketing. Multilevel marketing programs are known as MLM's, and unlike pyramid or Ponzi schemes, MLM's have a real product to sell. More importantly, MLM's actually sell their product to members of the general public, without requiring these consumers to pay anything extra or to join the MLM system. MLM's may pay commissions to a long string of distributors, but these commission are paid for real retail sales, not for new recruits.
Now lets get back to ViraDyne and see what their own Policies and Procedures have to say....
https://www.viradyne.com/ViraDyne_Policies_Procedures.pdf
Scroll down to ...SECTION 10 - INACTIVITY AND CANCELLATION
NOTE:- IA refers to an "Independent Affiliate"
So long as an IA remains active and complies with the terms of the IA Agreement, these Policies and Procedures, and the IA Compensation Plan, ViraDyne shall pay commissions to such IA in accordance with the IA Compensation Plan. An IA’s commissions and bonuses constitute the entire consideration for the IA's efforts in generating referrals and all activities related to generating referrals (including building a referral organization).
Did you read the BOLD and UNDERLINED part I highlighted them this way for you so that you can see that you could not miss it...YOU ARE BEING PAID ONLY FOR GENERATING REFERRALS!!!
Remember the definition of an illegal pyramid scheme? "Pyramis schemes promise consumers or investors large profits based primarily on recruiting others to join their program." DUH!
Just in case some one screwed up and did a typo... go back to the policies and procedure and scroll down to here..... 10.2 - CANCELLATION DUE TO INACTIVITY
It is the IA's responsibility to lead his or her marketing organization
with the proper example in personal production of referrals. Without
this proper example and leadership, the IA will lose his or her right to
receive commissions from referral generated through his or her
marketing organization. Therefore, IA's who personally produce less than
the minimum Personal Referrals required in the ViraDyne compensation
plan to become income qualified, will not receive a commission from
their own referral activity.
Again they clearly state that if you do not produce referrals YOU DON"T GET PAID!!!!
In the end there are those of you who foolishly will not care, money is money.
Those who do not believe what is there to see, "The government would not allow it to happen"
And those who will be relieved to have had this warning prior to being hoodwinked.
In the end it is your decision... choose wisely, all I do is report the facts as I see them.

How could I go anywhere after the profound statements made by you Roosevelt and Philippe's was the icing on the cake! LOL! I'm just not venturing into MLM programs. I'm looking into other avenues that are legit plus I still want to continue writing.

That's very thoughtful of you Udo and I see you are a member of Mentoring For Free. I've read Success in 10 Steps, introduced to me by another MLM networker. As I wrote earlier,MLM is just not for me. Money isn't everything as I have learned first hand in the last month as a result of an intense 6 day hospitalization. However, I wish you the best on your online business journey.

Lynne... I am sad to hear you say that you are done with MLM, it is one of the simplest and most powerful ways of creating an above average income for the average person. I myself use it to help others and allow my family to live in a manner that we could not with a "job". Go to my blog http://primus-philum.blogspot.com/ on the right side scroll down to "MY EBOOKS" and download a free copy of my book "Mailbox Magic" it is all about a simple non intrusive method of building any MLM business t

Thanks for the alert/warning Udo. Many more people should read this article. I'm sure it will save those who read it a lot of wasted effort, time and money. And as both Roosevelt and Philippe have stated in their comments: "Let the buyer beware" A "like" is very much deserved and coming up very soon.

I was introduced to this program in the beta phase before I was educated about illegal pyramid schemes. I don't use it and look forward to the day I am terminated due to lack of referrals. I am finished with MLM marketing and moving forward in the near future. Thank you Roosevelt for planting the seed to educate myself.

I believe similar schemes are coming up in the guise of simple PTC [paid-to-click] sites. I'll research and try to post these here

Roosevelt can't say it directly, so I'll say it for him, "Let the buyer beware" is an article he wrote on the same subject. That's not to say your article is irrelevant, Udo, this kind of message can never be repeated often enough. I kept reading articles on the subject and not understanding the subtleties, your article helped me, Udo, thanks for sharing :)

Thank you for sharing this info about the "Link180" or ViraDyne program. To be legal one has to be able to make money from using the product or service independent of referrals and as you point out such is not the case with this program. This program clearly appears to be an illegal pyramid scheme. "Let the buyer beware".
