Protect Yourself While Jogging

While I was in the Navy, physical fitness was a real big part of being a sailor. Or really should say that fitness in all branches of military service is a major part of military life. Every year the Navy standards of physical fitness had to be met. The Army, Marine Corp, and Air Force had their own standards of fitness. The toughest of all the standards is the Marine Corps.
      When I finally retired after 22 years, even in civilian life there has been a big push for a healthy lifestyles. This has included what we eat and also a daily physical work out program. Doctors suggest this but most of all health insurance companies do also too.
      With all of this in mind, a big part of physical fitness programs is jogging. While jogging one most take precautions to protect themselves and pay attention to their surroundings while jogging. Being aware of the people around and what they are doing can be one of biggest safe protection techniques one can take.
      Never jog alone! Safety in numbers is really a great why of warding off any attackers or even rapists. Each person can protect each other. Watching each others back is a excellent way of ensuring jogging safety.
      I have seen joggers jog with a baseball bat even when they are jogging in familiar areas. That can ward off an attacker but if the bat is used on an attacker that can cause physical body damage. It could even cause death.
