Guys! A Simulation game is a game which imitates real life actions for either training, analysis or entertainment purposes. Have we not seen amazing Hollywood movies centered on simulation and wanted to so be there? Oh yeah! I have for sure. Remember Jurassic Park, Toy Story, Finding Nemo, 300, Iron Man…. the list is endless. All these movies used simulation, and they used it pretty darn well!

The first computer simulation game was created in 1958 called “Tennis for Two” which simulated the tennis game between two players. This was the first electronic video game to use a graphical display. Of course technology advanced and Nintendo came up with the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1985 which grew to become the best selling console in video game history. In the 1990’s popular games such as ‘The Sims’ & ‘Command and Conquer’ were released and today ‘World of Warcraft’ is played by millions, including you and me, around the world.

As opposed to other genres of video and computer games, simulation games imitate the environment around the players. The games clearly represent interactions between players and environment realistically. That is why these games are popular among people of all ages.

Simulation is also used in theme park rides like The Amazing Adventures of Spider Man, Mission Space, The Simpsons Ride, Disney’s and Universal’s Flint Stones, Earth Quake, Time Machine, King Kong. I was so surprised to find out the applications of simulation. They are really immense in number. One and the most popular of them all, without a shadow of doubt, is Simulation Games!
