Pro and Cons of MagicJack

by Julie Miler Web Application Development Company
Pro of MagicJack Device:

1. Economical
MagicJack users pay a cheap yearly fee that is generally less than 1 month’s service on a landline telephone. In addition to saving on the monthly service fee, MagicJack eliminates long distance and toll charges, allowing the consumer to save even more money.

2. Portable
The MagicJack is not tied to any 1 location. The user can choose the computer and device on the street or remove the Magic Jack from one computer and use it on another to make free local and long-distance calls from hotels or some other location with high-speed Internet access. The MagicJack can be bought in one state and delivered as a gift to a relative or friend in another state.

3. Easy Installation
The MagicJack can be installed by anyone, even users that are not tech savvy. Once plugged in to a computer, the MagicJack will automatically detect the new device and display a series on onscreen prompts to walk the user through the steps necessary to install and configure the device.

Cons of MagicJack Device:

4. Down Internet, Down Phone
The MagicJack is based on an Internet connection.

5. Broadband Requirement
MagicJack only works on high-speed internet connections such as cable modem and DSL. The device does not work over satellite Internet.

6. Call Quality
Call quality will depend on the overall rate and quality of the online connection. A slower Internet connection is more likely to result in poor call quality and dropped calls.

7. Computer Required
The MagicJack has to be plugged into a computer to have a dial tone. If the computer is switched off, the consumer will not be able use the device to make or receive calls.
