Prefabricated Modular Medical Facilities, Clinics and Hospitals !

by Ritu Kaushik Consultant

India has many places where there is no medical help available. Sad!

BUT

There's a BUT here. /which means something can be done!/

Hurray!!

Portable clinics!

This “prefabricated clinics" thing is literally mind blowing. We can not really build clinics everywhere at once. So until we (uh, our government) have the funds and time and WILL to do that, we can do something else. We'll get to that later and here we let's talk about what we have and what we are doing right now! The famous free “chikitsa shivirs" are held very frequently in almost every place in our country. For that, there are small tents which are there and the doctors sit in them and see the patients. No matter if it is winter or summer! They just have tents to themselves.

Well, we don't know if those camps are helpful or not but we are sure that in the heat, cold, rain, and lack of hygiene there will definitely be some people who are going to be sick. Also, not all the machines can be carried in these camps because they can not be installed at all the places. And it is practically foolish to install the machines where there is no constant medical help can be provided.

But, with these machines the treatment will be better. It's just that they can not be provided at this moment in these camps. The tents are arranged in sand and in sand medical treatment seems to be less effective and more dangerous! They are not safe at all. We must aim at something better and permanent. Something with the help of which these machines can easily be carried around. If we use these prefabricated clinics in these health camps we can provide better help to the people of remote areas.

Each and every kind of machine can be installed in these portable clinics! These clinics have the ability to carry people, machines and electricity with them at all places. These have proper ventilation facility. They can be driven to any place at any given moment. They are safer than the tents in every way. Hygiene can be maintained in these little prefabricated structures! These camps will be more successful if we use these prefabricated clinics at the place of tents and other unsafe temporary measures.

These clinics are capable of handling any amount of weight and almost each and evet weather. Also, when the camps are over there is no litter left behind at the place. No litter means less diseases. Installing those vast tents can be cumbersome and way too costly. Whereas for these prefabricated clinics we just have to spend for once. We take the full responsibility of installation of machines in these clinics. Transportation not being an issue; solves almost rest of all the problems.

This is the best option for patients and the doctors as well. Because the latest technology can be sent to almost all the remote areas of India easily and effectively. These camps can be held more frequently and hence, the success rate of these plans and the health of our citizens will improve miraculously if we provide our people with the appropriate help at appropriate time. Portability makes it easier to provide medical help at any given instant of time!
