Model United Nations is a simulation of the United Nations General assembly and other collateral bodies that exist in the United Nations. During committee sessions, students from various backgrounds and age groups represent a country and attempt to tackle real- world problems and come up with potential resolutions for the problems.

Each year since 2011, Cathedral Vidya School, Lonavala, deemed the Best IGCSE Boarding School in Pune, has hosted its own Model United Nations: Cathedral’s International Model United Nations. It began with an arbitrary idea to debate among students, and this spark led to a spreading wildfire. Since the first ever MUN held by the Cathedral Vidya School, each MUN has rocketed to the very top. This year, however, the Secretary General and his entire team have pushed it up a notch. With just 5 committees last year, the number of committees has increased to 8, and they have been divided into separate difficulty levels: Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. Here at the Cathedral Vidya School Lonavala, the best International Boarding school in Pune , we take the concept of the Model United Nations and add an element of fun to what is otherwise a very serious and formal debate. During the day, the committee sessions remain formal, but as the sun sets, the Cathedral International Model United Nations (CIMUN) turns into a social gathering with dance and music to encourage communication between delegates of different countries, discussing with allies and negotiating with other countries that are part of their respective committees.

With just one day to go, the delegates (and delegations) of the Cathedral Vidya School have begun to gear up, with mounds of papers around them, their screens ahead of them shining information they need to confabulate during their original committee sessions. The guns have begun to load with arguments, alongside excitement for the socials that will follow their concluding committee sessions each day. For the delegates patiently awaiting the best days, and nights, of their lives: it begins tomorrow!
