Praying for my Nation.

Throughout our history, men and women have made great sacrifice in giving of time and means and sometimes their very lives that we might enjoy life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.  Today we face the same kind of challenges.  We have an enemy that wants to destroy our way of life and jeopardize our religious freedom.  We are at a crossroad where we must decide the direction our country will go and the role that Christian values will play in our nation.  God have mercy on America.

 

Since the beginning of our nation, God’s greatest movements in our midst came to us by prayer, from the signing of our earliest documents to the triumphs over dark days to the spiritual awakenings.  Throughout our history - persistent, prevailing, pointed, intentional, never-ending prayer has always brought the presence of God.  

 

Consider the possibilities of prayer.  It is a wonderful power put in the hands of God’s saints by His grace.  When we humbly seek His face in prayer for our leaders, we affect the very direction our country will take.  Pray for the blessings of God on our nation and pray that our nation would bless God.  

 

Heavenly Father,

Please forgive us of our sins.  We confess that we have failed you and fallen away from the truth of your revealed will.  We seek your sovereign blessing on our nation not because we deserve it but because of your grace and mercy in Christ.  Draw us back to you and give us the strength we need to honor you in all things.  Come back into our courts, our schools, our politics, and our public square.  Amen.
