Post workout dinner recipes to help you stay healthy

Post workout dinner recipes can be quite tricky. You are already tired after your workout and you don’t want to spend too much time in the kitchen. You’re hungry but can’t stand the idea of cooking for half an hour to have a meal. So you simply give up, eat some fruit and yogurt and go to bed. But eating right after a workout is as important as the workout itself.

Another problem with post workout meals is that you cannot find the time to go out and buy fresh produce to make your healthy meals. But just like you can buy protein bars online, you can also buy fruits and vegetables online too. There is really no reason for you to be lazy anymore.

Here are some quick post workout dinner recipes that you can whip up in no time at all.

1.       Grilled Chicken and Roasted Vegetables: This simple recipe is filling, tasty and easy. You can also reduce prep time if you buy vegetables online while you’re at work and have them delivered to you house by the time you come back. Simply season a chicken breast with some salt and pepper, you can add chilli flakes or cayenne pepper if you like your food spicy. Grill it in a pan, with very little oil for 15 to 20 minutes. While the chicken is cooking chop some veggies of your choice. In bowl mix the veggies will olive oil, salt and pepper to taste. Spread them on a tray and grill them in the oven or microwave for 20 to 30 minutes.

2.       Egg Omelette and Avocado on Toast: A great thing when you buy fruits online is that you can find exotic, imported fruits very easily. This dish calls for a ripe avocado, some eggs and wheat toast. For the omelette whisk your eggs with some spices of your choice and some greens like spinach. Fry it in a non-stick pan. Cut the avocado in half and spread the flesh on a toast. Sprinkle some chilli flakes on it for taste.

3.       Egg white omelette with tomato and feta: Feta is a great cheese to have post workout. You can also substitute it for paneer. In a bowl, separate your eggs into white and yolks, set the yolks aside. Whisk the whites until they form a foamy consistency, then add some cayenne pepper to it. In a non-stick pan, pour in your egg white mix, once it starts to cook put in chopped cherry tomatoes and feta/ cottage cheese. Cover and let it cook till the cheese melts. One omelette with four to five egg whites can keep you full throughout the night.
