As an Internet marketer you hear a lot about SEO, back links, this site, that site, this animal, that animal (whats up with that anyway Google?), and in the end, the gods of rankings kicks your butt.
Months of long hours searching keywords, writing and spinning content, worrying about the tiny little bits that can take your site and kick it to the curb, why do it?
Why all the work to get your site up in the ranks if you're not pleasing your readers? Is Google going to pay you for it, or Squidoo or any search engine, link directory etc,?
Don't get me wrong, keywords are very powerful and useful in getting organic traffic but at the end of the day, you need customers with cash in their pockets who want to spend it with you. To spend money with you requires you have proven you're credible, you can be trusted plus you are willing to address their needs!
Most affiliate programs do not require huge downlines to produce a solid monthly income provided you can reach people who need what you're offering. If you show them that it has real value along with the fact it will solve their problem, you will win almost every time.
When you write the ad copy, your email series, even personal messages, be sure to understand what is important to them. Your goal is to find out what your prospects need most and then give it to them!

Create relationships with your prospects. This has to be done in person.
