Planning a vacation in Paris? 4 places to be at with Children
Paris is beautiful. It's got the magnificent Eiffel Tower - the breathtaking Seine where couples stroll, hand-in-hand at Sunsets - and then it's also the home of some of the world's most brilliant writers such as Moliere.
The vibes and culture that Paris is made of are hard to find anywhere else (well, at least I believe this). It's the city to be in, for at least once in life. If you're going there anytime soon, I've a couple of tips to share - especially if you're going there with children.
Paris has plenty of kid-centric spots - from treasure hunts to Disneyland and boat rides to museums, this capital of France has it all.
1. Disneyland Paris
The adults cannot keep their eyes off the Eiffel Tower and Arc de Triomphe - but for kids, Disneyland Paris is a must-visit place. It's a dreamy, magical place to be at with kids. And here's my advice:
- Be there at the gates at 10 am (this is the time when gates open)
- If exploring Walt Disney Studios isn't on your priority list, one day is enough - don't opt for multi-day packages
- Get into the train - it's fast and affordable.
- Some of the pre-booked events, like ‘Meet Anna and Elsa from Frozen'- aren't that amazing - most likely, you'll see a costumed actor who smiles at the onlookers, shakes hands, and pats you on your head. However, if you must meet these characters, book ahead online.
2. Parks & waterways
Your kids are gonna love the parks and waterways for sure. Jardin du Luxembourg is my favourite - puppet shows, pony rides, playgrounds, sailboats, this place has it all for kids of all sorts. Then, you should also check out the Parc Floral de Paris - concerts, climbing webs, super-long slides and a flying fox, the Parc can literally make you gasp for air.
3. Les Catacombs
Looking for a place to get scared in Paris? Well then, Les Catacombs is the place for you. And then there's also world's most visited cemetery, Cimetière du Père Lachaise.
4. Paris Metro
During my stay in Paris, I would often get out of the metro station to take a walk up to the next station - metro stations in Paris aren't very far apart. Besides, Paris Metro is also a very affordable and safe way to get around. Take your kids on a metro ride - get the kids to walk if they're okay with it. There's much more life up on the streets of Paris.
If you're in the city for more than a few days, stay in any of the serviced apartments in Paris. Why? Because to me, they're the best places to stay at. You get more space, better prices, and locations from where you can explore the city with great ease. In all of my Paris travels, I've stayed in one or other serviced apartments. Hotels just don't excite me.
Just make sure you book your place well in advance - just Google for Paris serviced apartments, browse the sites that pop out, and book your serviced apartment using a well-reputed website.
I regularly write Travel articles and blogs. Paris is one of my favorite destinations. If you want to read more on this beautiful city and why it's the home of romance, stay in touch. I also plan to write a couple of articles on how to get the best out of deals on Paris serviced apartments. Make sure you don't miss out on them.
