Agra has for long been envisaged as a city of visual ecstasy with the magnificent Taj Mahal presenting a beautiful view and scenic background for photography. It was once a place of royalty where the king ruled and everywhere you visit you can witness that archaism. Situated on the banks of river Yamuna, Agra tour will take you back in former times and to those monuments that are standing even this day. Here is a list of architectural wonders you can see during your one day tour to Agra.

Itmad-ud-Daulah

Before you reach Taj Mahal, take some time to explore this Mughal mausoleum commissioned by Noor Jahan, the wife of Emperor Jahangir. This place is often called as ‘Baby Taj’ and described as ‘Jewel Box’. This was the first Mughal structure built completely from marble making extensive use of pietra dura and first tomb to be built on the banks of the Yamuna.

Taj Mahal

It is actually guarded city that contained more buildings in it but only a few of those are remaining till date. You will be surprised to know that only 25% of the Fort is open to the public- rest is still under Indian Army.

Sikandra

Akbar started designing this tomb in his typical architectural style as his final resting place which was completed by his son Jahangir after his death. Do explore this exquisite monument during your Agra tour for witnessing the older times of Mughals.

Fatehpur Sikri
