People are trying to find the best ways to make their housekeeping easier. This is where some really creative tricks come from – the need for being better and faster makes us trying to innovate. Learn how some of the people in London are doing it as they shared some of the tricks they use. Some really simple ideas that can save you a great deal of time and effort. Being a better housekeeper overall won't require drastic changes to your cleaning practices.

Barbara's tips of fast tidying up:
“Whenever you enter a room, take a quick look around and spot three things you can do to tidy it, i.e. take out the newspaper, fluff the pillows, put something back in its place, etc. Then do those three things. You'll be surprised how much easier tidying up becomes. And as we all know an orderly and organised room is much easier to be cleaned. This is why all the good cleaners pay attention to tidiness.”

Diane uses the long proven window cleaning method:
“To clean outside windows easy and cheap? We all know that the window cleaners in London can prove to be quite expensive. Add some vinegar to a little dishwasing soap to a bucket of water, use an old handled dish scrubbing device. Wet the windows, scrub with soap solution, rinse again. You're done! The vinegar helps them dry quickly and streak free.“

Sharleen reminds about the important top-to-bottom cleaning rule plus a way to remove dust and pet hair easily:
“When dusting, I always hated to dust the lamp shades. Dust would fly and settle right back on the lamp and table. Now, I use a lint roller on all our shades. Works great. They are also great for removing pet hair from furniture.”

Iris shared a ink removal tip:
“For the ladies that have husbands that constantly put pens in their shirt pockets, which later explode try this. Stature the pen mark with hair spray and keep rubbing the ink out until you see that everything has disappeared (the ink will dissolve) then run under cold water and wash as usual. If ink is still there, repeat until all traces of ink are removed.”

Patricia reminds the golden rule of being able to clean easier and faster:
“It is essential to keep the home in an orderly state, thus every time you notice something is not in its place take the time to sort the issue – collect, clean and store appropriately. Done on the go, organising will seem like a piece of cake and cleaning when there is less clutter around will be much easier as well.”
