Patagonia-A sojourn in to the wilderness

Patagonia has been on top of my list of places to visit and my recent Patagonia Holidays has left me spellbound. I’m unable to find words to describe the natural beauty of the place, its wilderness and the loud gushing water. Being an adventurous person, I reveled in the rugged landscapes that gave me ample opportunities to satisfy the adventurous side of me.

My vacation in Patagonia had it all - great sightseeing, strenuous hiking, biking, kayaking, hiking on a glacier, great accommodations - simple to luxurious and great food. Perito Moreno Glacier – a mystical experience

I got to enjoy various points in Patagonia like the hiking to and from the Cerro Tronador, the Hike to Hotel Refugio Frey, Cerro Castillo Glacier, the Marble Caves, Exploradores Glacier, the Condor Lookout, French Valley, and of course the famous Torres Del Paine. But what really stole the show for me was Perito Moreno Tour.

The majestic icy expanse of the Perito Moreno Glacier was simply breathtakingly beautiful. I got to trek among the pristine streams and the peaks of Los Glaciares National Park. I was lucky enough to witness glacier’s signature movements and also got to hear the cracking sounds from detaching icebergs. 

My trip began with the pickup from my hotel and drive through the picturesque view to the Los Glaciares National Park, named after the glaciers found here in huge numbers and also a UNESCO national heritage site. Hiking along the huge wall of ice (200 ft. in height and about 5 km long) was a wonder in itself. Huge slabs of ice detached itself from the wall and floated in the lagoon around. After the hike, I enjoyed sailing on the water along the high ice wall and the multiple floating icebergs. I also got to walk on the glaciers in the mini-trek. It was a sight to behold and capture.
