You will get to Travel!

Once individuals begin their career, they may become bound by budgets and other restraints. Not everyone gets the opportunity to travel to exotic locales. If you decide to take advantage of study abroad opportunities you may find that using your time as a student to see the world may help you gain a more global perspective and knock a few items off your bucket list.

You will Stand out in a Crowd

Many companies may be interested in your experiences as an international student. Earning your graduate degree abroad may help your resume stand out when you are applying for jobs domestically or internationally.

It will offer Invaluable Experience and Fun

Where else will you get the chance to develop close bonds with people living in another country? You can make friends, find mentors and learn about the culture and professional community in another country. All this enriching experience may help add value to the person that you are and offer rare opportunities that no other expedition can provide.

If you are interested in international travel and new cultural experiences, earning your graduate degree abroad may be a great educational option. Take the time to carefully consider all of the study abroad opportunities available to graduate students and determine what course of action will be suit your long and short term educational and career goals.

Cons

Loneliness

You will be far away from your home and familiar surroundings. Living in a different country will definitely test your limits. You will be confronted with new cuisines, with new ways of living and new customs, with new people, and even with language barriers. All of these can be very difficult and stressful to deal with and if you are not tough, you might just cave in to all these hardships and find yourself abandoning the course you signed up for in this foreign country.

Fees and living costs

The expenses. If you're not careful with choosing the course you will be taking up and the country where you will study, you will find this whole endeavor costly. The course fees may be expensive and the overall cost of living in a different country might just be expensive as well. As such, it is important that you put some thought into the course you want to take up and the country where you will be studying.

Employment

Ambiguity with your post-graduation plans. After completing your course, you might become undecided about your future plans. Should you return to your home country to seek employment? Or should you try your luck in the country where you completed your course? If you decide to stay in the country where you just graduated, bear in mind that there will be residency and work criteria or requirements you will need to meet as soon as you are no longer a full-time student.
