Opportunities of Jobs in Government Sectors – Career Prospects in the Public/ Government Jobs

The Government Sector has been always at the forefront for providing better and attractive job opportunities to the candidates of India. It is because the scope of job opportunities in public sector is huge when compared to other sectors. The candidates usually run after the government jobs on account of the attractive pay packages, level of security and several other additional benefits attached to it.

 

About Government Sector / Public Sector:

The Government sector of the country is made up of the following main components- Central Government, State Government, Local Government, Government Agencies and Departments, Civil Services Departments and National Assemblies & Parliaments, respectively, at the first level. Conditions of Employment in Government Sector Jobs:

The candidates in order to apply for a government job have to appear either in the Competitive Exams as conducted by the organizations’ for the selection purposes. The candidates should also possess the minimum eligibility as required for a specific job for this purpose. The candidates who are interested to make their careers in the Central Government Jobs must appear in the Indian Civil Services Examinations for making an entry into the central government departments and services. The candidates who wish to work in the PSUs should hold the necessary qualification for the concerned job post. The candidates who wish to work in the Banks should appear in the Competitive Exams conducted by the IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) for this purpose.

 

Scale of Pay:

The candidates applying for the government sector jobs are offered better pay scales and emoluments subject to the position or the level of posting. Generally, the salary in a government job ranges from Rs. 5,200 to Rs.80, 000 or even more depending on the position held by the candidate.

In addition to this, there are several other benefits in the form of Pension Funds, Health Insurance and Employees Security Funds etc.

There are many new jobs coming up every year in the Government Sector for the candidates to applying for it. There are new schemes introduced by the government for the development of education, health as well as other grassroot areas for the upliftment of the backward areas in the country that can be a better avenue for employment of the Social Work Graduates or Development Studies candidates.

Also, there are new Public Sector Companies coming up in the form of Mahila Banks and other organizations that can open up a number of employment opportunities to the candidates applying for the government jobs. The candidates are just required to keep an eye on the opportunities and necessary conditions as required for grabbing it as and when introduced by the government for this purpose.
