Online Military Courses – Education for Those Who Serve

by Matthew Pitt Chief Operating Officer at 3CIR
Those who serve within the Australian Defence Force will acquire certain knowledge and skills, which may be useful to the civilian workforce. However, those qualifications may not easily be understood by non-military organisations, which could lead to difficulty in finding employment after retirement or leaving the defence force. That said, there are military courses former and current servicemen and women can take online, so they can gain the qualifications they need to advance in their career  and improve their chances of  becoming qualified for employment when they resume civilian life.

Online military courses can provide the right balance of learning and qualifications, which former and current military personnel need. They provide learning in a flexible environment, while being guided by seasoned instructors. Many courses in different areas are available to military personnel, including customer engagement, business, marketing, work health and safety, leadership and management, human resources, franchising, government investigations, and project management. There are courses for first aid/CPR, project management, and security operations too.

Veterans and current military members who want to be promoted or advance in their career have more opportunities to study and acquire the qualifications they need through online military courses. Online learning is more flexible and opens up more opportunities to study a variety of different courses, regardless of your location..

Online learning has also made it easier to get qualifications per level, such as Certificates II, III, and IV, diploma and advanced diploma, graduate diploma, and graduate certificate. These courses are also backed by RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning), which is helpful for ex-servicemen and women who already have experience in  their chosen course. RPL allows them to acquire the qualification they need sooner, without going through the actual course. This could help speed up their career trajectory  and their ability to become employed within a civilian occupation.

Taking up online military courses does not have to be expensive or turn into a long-term financial burden. Schools offer payment plans which  allow applicants to study now and pay later. Payment terms are favourable and affordable to make sure that students can financially support themselves through  study and receive the education and qualifications they deserve. Some schools also offer generous discounts to military and emergency services personnel.
