Page pursued his engineering from the University of Michigan and had gone to Stanford for working on his dissertation. Being fascinated with the mathematics behind the construction of the WWW, he chose the Web as his topic for the dissertation. His interest led to the creation of Google, which derives profits of billions of dollars.

While most people believe computer programmers are all about their coding skills and not about their business acumen, people like Pierre Omidyar has proven us wrong. He is one of those programmers who seem to have quite an insight both into coding and business. He proved his skills in both the fields by launching eBay, the eCommerce site that generated wealth of over $3.6 billion.

In 1995, Omidyar put a laser pointer up on the Internet with the intent of auctioning it. He did not quite expect the item to be sold. However, when it did, he had the brilliant idea of starting an auctioning website. Over a decade has passed and eBay is now synonymous with online auctioning. Over 80 million users have registered themselves with eBay to be able to access the site, where they can buy and sell products.

There are always risks involved in being an online entrepreneur. However, those, who have vision as well as the knowledge and expertise to make them come true, are the true players who win the race!
