OnePlus 3 Smartphone Will Feel Good To Hold
The OnePlus 3 is expected to be a big departure from the company’s previous flagship phones, swapping that iconic sandstone material for a sleek metal design. But don’t worry, OnePlus CEO Peter Lau says the new device will still feel good in your hand. The company co-founder continued to hype the OnePlus 3 this week on Chinese social network Weibo without offering any concrete details. In a rough translation, he says the phone offers a “cool feeling.”
This isn’t the first time that OnePlus’ senior management have teased its upcoming smartphone, as co-founder Carl Pei earlier revealed the handset will sport an all-new design. Both of these teasers combined suggest a redesigned handset that should aim to address user concerns about the OnePlus 2 being bulky and heavy in the hand. The render below was posted by notorious leakster evleaks a few days ago and corroborates the leaked OnePlus 3 pictures from a few days ago.
There are noticeable iterations as well such as the deletion of the signature sandstone back cover and the glass solution many may associated with the OnePlus X. Instead, the OnePlus 3 offers a pure, naked and smooth shell which is likely why Lau referred to it as something ideal for a user’s grip.
So far the leaks have suggested we’ll see two variants of the OnePlus 3; one will offer 4GB RAM and 32GB storage for an estimated price of $310, while a premium model will sport 64GB storage and 6GB RAM at a higher cost of approximately $385. It’s likely to be powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor but for those hoping OnePlus will make the bump up to QHD resolution, the screen looks set to be a 5.5-inch panel, albeit of the AMOLED variety.
OnePlus mobile is set to launch the new phone this spring with an official unveiling expected later this month. Last we heard the device could make its debut on May 28 before hitting the market in June.
