Vitamins are the most important nutrient which needs to be consumed daily through everyday meals. Vitamins have been classified into six categories or groups namely A, B, C, D and E. Each type of vitamin has a vital contribution towards the growth and development of body. However, their major function is to protect the body from external diseases and making the immune system even stronger. If you do not take these vitamins properly, a number of diseases can certainly attack the body. For instance, Vitamin A makes the eyesight better and its deficiency causes night blindness. It also helps in blood purification and its main sources are carrot, reddish and green vegetables. It has been observed that some children are born with bone disorder and they are very weak. They cannot even stand properly without a support because their skeletal system is very soft. As a result of which there is deformity in the shape of the body. This is mainly occurs due to the deficiency of Vitamin D phosphorous and calcium which provides strength to the bones.

The disease which occurs in these circumstances is medically known as the rickets. It is also due to lack of metabolism of Vitamin D. The risk of fractures becomes more evident because of abnormally shaped bones. The children are more prone to this disease and it is taking place in some of the developing nations. Although it mostly occurs during the childhood, the adults are not free from its risk factors. It has also been found out that severe diarrhea and vomiting can lead to lack of Vitamin D. The kids who are especially suffering from malnutrition or those who have to starve because of excessive poverty are the easy victims of this disease. Osteomalacia is quite similar to that of rickets and is yet another disease caused due to deficiency of Vitamin D. According to orthopedics, the major signs and symptoms of this disease are softness of the bones, dental problems, weakening of the muscles, increase in the risk of developing fractures, bone deformity, bend legs knock knees, stunt growth, pelvic and spinal abnormalities etc. The rickets have been divided into the following types; Nutritional, Vitamin D resistant, Vitamin D dependent, Congenital and Newborn. It can be detected through a number of methods such as blood tests, Serum calcium and phosphorous and X-Rays of the affected portions.

A study has recently come out with the report that a large part of world population is worried about their excess increase of the size of the body and also weight. The first visible signs are the accumulation of fat around the tummy and the belly region. This is serious and if you are not getting the desired outcome even after trying various alternatives, perhaps you need to consult a specialist doctor or even go for the liposuction surgery. The Obesity is basically measured in terms of Body Mass Index or BMI. According to the doctors, the person’s weight should be proportionate in accordance with his height. Obesity brings along with it several deadly diseases such as diabetics, cardiac problem, cancer, asthma, obstructive sleep apnea and it also reduces the life expectancy of the person.
