WHAT IS NUTRIENT AGAR?

Nutrient Agar is an inexpensive medium supports the growth of a wide range of non-fastidious organisms. It is a general purpose medium for cultivation of microorganisms and as a useful demonstration and teaching aid.

WHAT IS NUTRIENT BROTH?

Nutrient broth is a basis culture media designed to give good growth from minimal inocula. It is used for maintaining microorganisms, cultivating fastidious organisms by enriching with serum of blood and are also used for purity checking prior to biochemical or serological testing.

USES

Both Nutrient agar and nutrient broth is used for the cultivation and maintenance of non-fastidious organisms as well as enumeration of organisms in water, sewage, dairy products, feces and other materials.
