From last couple of years, the demand of mobile phones has been increasing to a great extent. Earlier, to own a mobile phone was a great thing; spoke status symbol. But with the increase in its demand, the rates of the mobile phones have become cheap. Now, anyone and everyone can afford the Mobile Phones. Now the time has come that people can’t imagine even a single day without it. The need of the mobile phones came from the need to stay connected with our loved ones almost every time. Hence, you will hardly find any place in the world where the mobile phones are not available.

However, the reach of the cell phones has spread globally to the extent that a reliable source reported that by the year 2014, there will be 7.3 billion active handsets. In short, the number of cell phones will be more than the number of people existing on the Earth!

But this survey doesn’t mean that every person existing on this planet will have a cell phone. This is not possible in fact. But this survey attributes that as the users are increasing in large numbers who own multiple cell phones, the number will be increased as people have to own multiple phones for personal and work use as well. As people have to carry a separate handset for the work purpose as well apart from personal use, the demand of the devices would be increased.

Moreover, there are lots of countries in the world where number of handsets have exceeded the population of that country. This would sound unbelievable but it’s true. Because of the increase in the demands of the cell phones, the mobile companies have come up with the cheap mobile phones and Smartphones.

There are more active cell phones in China and Asia. Hence, China and Asia are considered to be main market for the cell phones and mobile companies gain mostly from here. Both in China and Asia, the growth of cheap mobile phones and Smartphones are tremendous. However, one would find branded devices here.

Hence, we can say that the mobile market is and will be growing tremendously.
