NICKEL POWDER

Nickel powder is also divided into carbonyl nickel powder, which is gray irregular powder and easy to oxidize in moist air. It is mainly used for coating and plastics as conductive pigments to shield electromagnetic interference and radio frequency interference, for various high gloss decorative paints and plastics, instead of aluminium powder as anticorrosive paint in water system, etc. Fine spherical nickel powder can be used for conductive ink.

Metal pigments with nickel as the main component, including nickel powder and flaky nickel powder, are decomposed by distilled and purified nickel carbonyl [Ni (CO) 4] vapor. The nickel particles with suitable shape are formed by controlling temperature, diluting with carbon monoxide and in the presence of gas additives (oxygen and nitrogen). Carbon dioxide gas is used to wash out carbon monoxide and control the oxygen content on the surface of the particles to be 0.065%. The latter is high purity nickel carbonyl powder, in the presence of suitable lubricants and liquid media, grinding with steel balls in a ball mill to form sheets of suitable thickness.

Nickel powder is used to prepare non-ferrous alloys, high temperature resistant and antioxidant materials, magnetic materials, and hydrogenation catalysts for chemical reactions. The packing is made of plastic bags lined with protective gases, cloth bags and iron drums.
