Newborn Babies Care Guide
Having a kid is one of the most exciting things in the world. It may be easy and fun making the baby, raising the baby is one of the toughest things a parent will ever have to do in this world. Parents are tasked by nature to teach children how to live with others around them while at the same time moulding them to become responsible people in society.
However the toughest part of taking care of a kid in their first six months in this world. New born babies are fragile like glass and they need serious attention from their parents or nanny. Those who go through tougher times are new mothers since it is their first time to give birth. Below are some tips on how to look after your baby in their first six months.
1. Prepare adequately before the baby comes.
Some new time parents do not prepare themselves adequately and make excuses about their unpreparedness. Whether they do not know the sex of the baby, parents are advised to buy enough baby clothes, beddings, and every thing a baby will need in order for them to be comfortable and safe. This will save parents more time and giving them the chance to enjoy the baby instead of running up and down looking for baby clothes.
Parents are also advice to prepare the babies room, crib, and even a new baby bathtub. A new bathtub is important because the baby's immunity is still weak, and the baby cannot be using the same bathtub as everyone else because they are infested by a lot of germs.
2. Seek help from experienced mother's
Taking care of a new born baby especially if you are a new mum can be tricky and stressful. It is advisable for a new mother to seek help from their mother's, auntie's, sisters that have given birth before them and any one that has experience in taking care of infants.
This will give new mother's the much needed first hand education on how to feed, wash, handle and many other important information about a baby.
3. Handle with care.
New born babies are fragile and they need to be a handled with a lot of care.
Before holding the baby mothers should always ensure they have clean hands in order to protect the baby from germs. Unlike older people, a baby's immune has not fully grown and simple acts such as washing hands before holding a baby could save their life.
A new born baby's bones are also very fragile and can easily break if they are not held well, kept in a bad position or even being accidentally dropped.
4. Bond and properly soothe the baby.
Bond between a baby and it's parents is very important, this makes a baby feel secure. Also it is advisable for the baby to bond with both parents so that they can identify both of them, this will be helpful because both parents can help each other when it is needed.
They should also try as much as possible to soothe the baby gently when they cry, and not lose patience when the baby cries for a longer time than expected.
5. Exclusive breast feeding for the first six months.
A new born baby cannot digest anything else except for breast milk. The breast milk contains all the necessary nutrients that a baby requires, also the milk is of the right temperature for the baby to readily drink. After six months a baby is allowed to eat other types of food, however proper hygiene should always be observed.
6. Mothers should always be observant of the baby and notice new things on the baby.
An observant mother can save the life of their baby. Babies are very fragile and it is very important for mother's to look out for any discomfort of the baby, swelling of the baby or even discoloring of the baby's skin. Immediately they notice something new on the baby they suspect may be harmful they should report to a doctor for more consultation.
