The Giants come into today's game on 4-4 and will want to gain the win today to get back into positive record territory. However, the Buccaneers will be just as desperate for the win to get back on par; they are currently a game further back on 3-4.

Even though the Giants are just on 4-4 they are top of a lackluster NFC East. The Washington Redskins are tied with the Philadelphia Eagles on 3-4, and the Dallas Cowboys, who have lost five straight games now, are way back on 2-5.

Meanwhile, things may already be gone for the Buccaneers, as they are bottom of the NFC South. Their first goal will be to catch up with the 4-4 New Orleans Saints, but then the 6-2 Atlanta Falcons and 7-0 Carolina Panthers are way out on top of the division.

New York Coach Tom Coughlin has insisted that his team will not rush back the return of Pierre-Paul, even though he acknowledges that his comeback would be a massive boost for the Giants' defense, which has produced the fewest sacks in the league this season so far.

Earlier this week on Thursday Night Football, the Cincinnati Bengals moved to 8-0 with ease as they demolished a hapless Cleveland Browns team 31-10.

The Browns had been able to keep in touch with the mighty Bengals until the half way stage of the game, and being just 14-10 down after the second period had given their fans hope of an upset.

But the second half saw the Bengals wake up and in particular the final quarter they piled on the pain for the Browns to hand them their seventh defeat of the season so far.

The Thursday Night Football game saw quarterback Andy Dalton throw three touchdown passes to Tyler Eifert as the Browns had no answer to their connection.

Moving to 8-0 sets a new franchise record for the Bengals; it is the first time they have ever been on 8-0 in their history, and is also their longest ever winning streak within a single season.

As well as Dalton and the Bengals offense piling on the pain for the Browns, the Cincinnati defense also played their part by completely shutting down Cleveland in the second half, allowing them just 32 yards and two first downs in total.

Dalton finished on 21 of 27 for 234 yards, and Eifert's three touchdowns move him to nine in total for the season so far, which also ties him for the franchise record for a tight end.
