New Updates on EDDM from USPS

According to a recent press release from the USPS, Every Door Direct Mail™ (EDDM) is producing considerable results within the small business community.

What is Every Door Direct Mail? Think of it as the United States Postal System's version of the Unaddressed Admail product offered by Canada Post.

EDDM™ allows business mailers to reach geographically targeted audiences virtually anywhere in the country by using carrier route information, instead of individual names and exact addresses,.

The EDDM program is easy-to-use and cost-effective. There is no postage permit required, no mailing list required, and plenty of room is available on the mailpiece for large messages and graphics. The target audience can be identified by radius around a business or by targeting postal routes (which are similar to neighbourhoods). Once designed and printed, the mailers are distributed at the Post Office that services the targeted carrier routes.

According to the USPS, standard mail flat-size requirements must be used to qualify for the program. Each mailer must be 11 1/2 inches long or more than 6 1/8 inches high, or more than 1/4 inch thick. It can weigh up to 3.3 ounces. A minimum of 200 mail pieces must be mailed, and prices begin at about $ .14 cents each.
