Need Volunteers for Guiding Tax Filing:

One of the free tax filing service Tax-Aide, AARP foundation program needs volunteers to assist low to moderate income taxpayer in Scotland.

The Scotland County Memorial Library and in Raeford needs tax preparers volunteers. Previously, No experience needed for Professional Tax Preparation.

The Gyles,( Director of the Scotland County Memorial Library) said previous year were filed 408 Federal and 427 State returns by Tax-Aide volunteers.

Last year Best tax preparation experienced is not necessary.

The Tax preparers were approved by IRS organization. The CPA or Tax Preparation person need to be pass certification test by IRS and will be covered for liability when working with the scope of the AARP Foundation mandate. Most trainees for tax preparation need additional study time at home. Factual preparation for 2017 returns starts at end of the Jan to mid –April 2018.

During Tax season the volunteer preparer will ask commitment for one or more regularly scheduled for minimum hours per week.

The preparer on-site will assist the clients are properly checked in and have the necessary paperwork.

On AARP Tax-Aide site the volunteers choose to work with site team, located I Laurinburg or Raeford.

The AARP foundation program is planned to help low to moderate income house firms for whom the cost of professional tax preparation would be a burden. Assure that the taxpayer will receive the tax credits and deduction. There are no age restrictions were all qualified people get help, but special care is given to 60 or older taxpayers.
