Festivals are the main soul of our life, especially in India we are celebrating all occasions and festivals with zeal and passion. There are many festivals celebrated here like Diwali, Holy, Rakhi, Navratri and many others. Each festival has its own importance and a unique story. Navratri is the most famous and zealous fiesta of our country. We are doing worship of lord Durga at the Navratri. Actually, Navratri comes two times in a year; one comes in usually between September to October and second comes in March to April.

Navratri which comes in chaitra month of Hindu, consists of 9 days and the ninth day celebrated as Ram Navmi. It is the birthday of God Ram. Chaitra Navratri, also known as Vasant or Basant Navratri, is the nine days fiesta dedicated to the worship of Goddess Shakti. The last day holds dual importance – being the last day of Navratri and Lord Ram’s birth anniversary that is Ram Navami.

Chaitra Navratri also marks the starting of Hindu New year which starts on Chaitra shukla pratipada. Moreover fiesta like Gudi padwa and Ugadi are also rejoiced on this day. This year Chaitra Navratri all will be rejoiced on 8 April 2016. Such a devout and festive day it is! People will go to the temples, greet each other and pray for a healthy, prosperous and wealthy life. Above seeking blessing from religious spot on this day holds a lot more importance. Now you can also make a favourable start and stay blessed.

Not only festivals but Chaitra Navratri also marks the change in climatic condition. It is taken as an indication for Indian summer season. As Mother Earth goes through a significant climatic change, these Navratras are also known as Basant or Spring Navratri.  Basant means spring. It is said that Chaitra Navratri fasts are done to prepare oneself for the season of summer.
