Natural secrets for healing-Ayurveda
Hita hitam sukham dukham ayus tasya hitahitam |Mana ch tachha yatrokatam ayurveda sa uchyate |
This Is a Sanskrit ‘shloka’ from CharakSahita which capturesthe essence of Ayurveda. It can be roughly translated to mean-
“The science of Ayurveda describes the advantageous, disadvantageous, happy and unhappy states of life, in addition to what is good and bad for life and its measurement”.
This ancient shloka has a remarkably contemporary ring to it and brings to mind the modern definition of health as given by WHO, which states that “Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity”.
No wonder Ayurveda is one of the few ancient systems of medicine that is widely used in modern times and its relevance and wisdom is finding increasing acceptance worldwide. More and more organizations abroad and in India, the land of its origin, are devoting themselves to the intense study and research of the more than 10.000 year old Vedic texts which hold profound medical and surgical insights and knowledge.
The department of AYUSH (Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy) under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare is the body which looks into the education and research of these alternative systems of medicine. The Indian government proactively supports Ayurveda Training in India. Ayurveda Training schools India, both at the national and state levels offer courses at various levels of specialization.

Ayurveda Training schools at Goa are particularly popular especially with foreigners. Goa is a highly popular destination for tourists from all over the world. Its fabulous beaches, a unique culture, lush greenery, a laid back lifestyle, and being located away from a highly urbanised setting, gives it an irresistible charm. The foreign tourist is also increasingly aware of the benefits of alternative systems of medicine and treatment that India has to offer, Ayurveda being the front runner in this regard. Both these facts are making Ayurveda Courses Goa a big draw.
But it is not just the foreigners who are flocking to reap the twin benefits of a beach setting and Ayurveda training. The high quality of the institutes and organizations imparting Ayurveda education, are attracting the discerning and aware domestic learner as well.
The wealth of knowledge stored in the three principal early texts on Ayurveda- the CharakaSamhita, the SushrutaSamhita and the BhelaSamhita are finding many takers in the world today. We need to take heed to the ancient wisdom of Ayurveda which points out that moderation is the key to health and health in turn is a fine equilibrium of the mental, spiritual and physical state of a human being.
