The Nodal Agency in charge of organizing all national skill development initiatives is the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. The initiative is part of the 2015 National Policy on Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, which is an updated version of the 2009 National Policy on Skill Development (NPSD).

It also improves someone's productivity and expertise. The plan also aims to educate over 40 crore people and create a labor force by 2022. It accomplishes this by offering a wide range of free classes and courses.
