Must Visit Tourist Places in Shimla

If you are looking to relax at a scenic destination, there can’t be a better option than Shimla. Check into one of the hotels in Shimla on Mall Road, and visit all the famous landmarks of the hilly town.

  • The Viceregal Lodge is yet another attraction. It was once home to the Viceroy during the time of the British Raj. The Viceregal Lodge, which is also known as the Rashtrapati Niwas, was built in the 1880s. The Lodge now houses the Indian Institute of Advanced Studies.

 

  • The Shimla State Museum is also a great place to explore the treasures of India’s culture and heritage, including many bronze statues, paintings and masks.

 

  • Summer Hill, located on the outskirts of the town, is yet another must-visit destination. Summer Hill was where Mahatma Gandhi stayed at a mansion.

 

  • Interested in temples? Then you must visit the Jakhoo temple, an ancient place of worship dedicated to the deity of Hanuman.
