The Stuhr Museum

The Stuhr Museum of the Prairie Pioneer is a museum dedicated to preserving and conserving the legacy of the-Pioneers from the late 19th century. The museum houses a historic village- the Railroad Town, the village comprises of the original period structures from the 1890s era prairie village. The museum was designed by Edward Durell Stone and has been named after Leo Stuhr who was a politician and a local farmer and has contributed significantly to the growth of the museum. This museum has been listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2015, today the structures house the place where actor-Henry Fonda was born and sites where popular movies were shot.

St. Mary’s Cathedral

St. Mary’s Cathedral is a Roman Catholic Cathedral listed in the National Register of Historic Places in Grand Island, Nebraska. The cathedral went through a major renovation in the 1950s; a new city hall was added to it in 2001.
