Modest Fashion Making Waves

by shazia g. designer
Although the Middle East has always been known for its modest yet glamorous modest fashion, worn by women for cultural and religious reasons, worldwide the modest fashion movement has only been picking up pace for about a decade now.  More and more women are choosing to dress modest because of  religious reasons, culture, age or shape.  Whatever the reason the modest fashion industry is estimated to be worth $467 billion by the year 2020.  Brands are finally realizing the marketing power of modest fashion and how massive and widespread modest fashion really is.

Even in places where modest fashion was not readily available, now online retailers, mass market chains and specialist shops are offering a wide range of clothing making modest fashion a style choice.  Take for example high end designers such as Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci and Marks & Spencer who have all produce collections to capture the hearts of Islamic fashion and modest fashion wearers.

Many give credit to social media for prompting diversity to become a mainstay within the fashion industry.  Social Media has also shone a light on the fact that modest and Islamic fashion can be stylish and that women who dress modestly can be valuable customers.
