We all know about the surgical strike carried out by India on JEM camps across the LOC in order to tighten the noose around Terrorists finding saving havens in Pakistan. The surgical strikes were done using the flying beasts called Mirage 2000 planes of Dassault French aviation company. After the strike, Pakistan carried out a retaliatory attack on India and sent a formation of f-16 Falcon planes for the same. The planes crossed LOC and went back after dropping bombs in vacant areas. The planes were followed by IAF MIG 21 bison aircraft flown by Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthman, son of a decorated IAF veteran. He engaged with the F-16 Falcon near the LOC shooting it down and even his plan was shot in the engagement. The officer landed in the enemies territory and was picked by their army. He is to be released today at the Wagah Border. MiG 21 is what Maruti Suzuki is for India. It has been used by the Indian army for a long time and has helped India win the Kargil war as well. But, compared to the Falcon f-16 MiG 21 Bison is not up to the standards, though.

IAF wing commander Abhinandan was flying the MIG 21 aircraft when it locked with the F-16 of the Pakistan Army. He downed the F-16 when it fired the air to air missile before his Bison was hit during this fierce dog fight on Wednesday 27, 2019.

The MIG 21 Bison is known to be dropped by the Indian Airforce in 2019 and also has known to have 500 plus incidences of plane crashes, even though it played a pivotal role in 1971 War of India and Pakistan.
